Todd Hansen (SXSW) opens Eurosonic Noorderslag conference

Todd Hansen, conference manager of South by Southwest (us) opens the Eurosonic Noorderslag conference 2017. As keynote speaker of the Buma Music meets Tech program, Hansen will uncover some new developments in the area of tech and music. The conference takes place 11th – 14th January in the Oosterpoort in Groningen as part of Eurosonic Noorderslag.

South by Southwest is the definitive conference for tech, film and music in the US and serves as an incubator for creative, digital and cutting-edge tech initiatives. At his keynote, Hansen will uncover some of the latest developments and trends, and offer insight into some of the concepts to be presented at SXSW. Hansen is also a member of the Buma Music meets Tech Award jury, helping to decide which start-up from the pitch program will win the Buma Music meets Tech Award. Start-ups can apply for the pitch program on the Eurosonic Noorderslag website.

Some of the conference themes at Eurosonic Noorderslag:

Buma Music meets Tech
Buma Music meets Tech was set up by Buma/Stemra to support start-up companies and stimulate entrepreneurship and economic growth. Buma Music meets Tech offers a platform for promoting new services to both professionals and the public. At Eurosonic Noorderslag, Buma Music meets Tech will present a pitch program for start-up companies and hold a conference on tech innovation.

EPIC
Eurosonic also features further conference lines, including the European Production & Innovation Conference (EPIC), which includes themes such as innovation, health and safety and sustainability in live event production. The Innofest program, where festivals serve as a testing ground for new technology, is once again part of the conference.

VPRO Medialab Meet Up: Future of Media
In co-operation with VPRO Medialab, the conference holds an interactive session for makers and creators with on- and offline platforms. With ´spreading the stories´ as a guideline: how to reach out to audiences who (almost) do not listen to radio anymore? How do broadcasters and musicians survive in the present media landscape? Who are the new players and how do other European makers and media platforms operate in these times?
